Institute of Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud Lecture Theatre
The Sigmund Freud Lecture Theatre in Maida Vale was refurbished, focusing on addressing poor acoustics with high reverb. As the lecture theatre is in a historically significant building, the IoP wanted to keep the ceiling exposed.
TK-Team proposed 800mm circular ceiling-hung baffles, covering 50% of the space. The baffles were evenly spaced above the lighting to avoid shadows. The solution successfully improved acoustics while preserving the ceiling’s original structure.
